Viognier
An expressive, often floral and full white, emblematic of Condrieu.
Viognier is associated with the northern Rhône, notably Condrieu and Château-Grillet, and is also grown elsewhere. Apricot and floral aromas do not mean the wine is sweet.
What to notice
Taste with creamy poultry and focus on texture as well as aroma.

Style descriptions are guides, not rules: vintage, vineyard, blending and maturation change the result.
Rhône Valley — Syrah leads in the north; Grenache often plays a major role farther south.
Languedoc — Languedoc is both a broad wine region and a regional PDO: the two scopes are not interchangeable.
